Apartment Hunting

I get this from Mom, but I've always been bad about making knee-jerk decisions. I see a computer, identify it as the one I want, buy it. Saw the Nissan X-Terra, wanted it, bought it. Mom came to Tampa to check the place out and ended up putting a down-payment on our house. The good news is that when we make decisions like this we tend to be really happy with them. My laptops last me years, my car is nearly nine years old, and Mom has never lived in a single country as long as we've lived in the house.

So I continued my apartment-hunting yesterday and started looking at reviews today (during work hours, I know, whatever) and just didn't like what I was seeing from the available apartments. Apparently when 40,000 students attend a single campus and there is NOTHING but that campus in the city, apartments go quickly. Who knew?

Anywho, the first complex I really liked when I started looking a couple months ago is also the first complex mentioned by two completely unrelated people I have spoken to in my quest to find out more about where to move. Call it a bad case of cognitive dissonance, but now I'm going to go on and on and on about the Toftrees apartments because that's where I just nailed down living arrangements for the 12 months of my life ranging from August 7, 2010 - July 31, 2011.

Holla!

The place looks pretty sweet and it's in a quiet location. I don't have a balcony or patio, and my particular apartment doesn't have walk-in closets (UUUGGGHHH)... in fact, I think I'm getting the step-child of my apartment type. But, I don't care. The fact that so few apartments are available kind of bothers the crap out of me and it's not like I'm really going to have time to care about my apartment. I should probably just invest in a cot and live in the library, but I'm sure the university would frown gently upon me bringing a coffee maker to the stacks.

Apartment: DONE.
