Welp, I got my first thin envelope. In what ended up being a rather anticlimactic experience my first rejection came from...
*drumroll*
... Ohio State.
Really, Ohio State? Really? OK. Bye bye. *waves*
(This also means I will not be offering my "Reasons I want to go to..." post for them. Not that I care. They fluctuated between being my fourth and fifth choice anyway. :P)

Don't let this bother you...AT ALL! What a joke: you've done everything right as an undergrad and grad student, taught, worked in the "real world," have a clip file the size of NYC's telephone book, been published in the field's major journal, published all over the place otherwise, etc., etc., etc.
What could OSU have been looking for?
But, the saddest aspect of this is that you'll never know if it was a specific thing or some vague thing, so just wash your hands of it. [And, when the books, articles, awards, accolades come flowing out down the road...remember that OSU can stick it in its eye!]
HAHAHA Actually, I think that when the books, articles, awards, etc., roll in, I'll think fondly about "that time when Bob suggested OSU could stick it in its eye." Love it!
Honestly, I'm not too torn up about this. I would have liked something more than a form letter (as you'll note in the rant I posted in your blog), but I'm definitely not wasting my energy on this one.
They can't hold a candle to PSU anyway... Not to mention they have a Buckeye for a mascot. Really. Who the heck wants to live with that as the mascot from their Ph.D. program? ;)
Thanks for the laugh!
