One Down, Four to Go.

It's been a while since I updated. Hopefully I'm not making like an NHL lockout: out-of-sight, out-of-mind. (Although even when they came back, they were still out of mind. Funny how that works. /sarcasm)

Truth be told, nothing has really happened on the Ph.D. front during the past two weeks. Because I have that whole TA dealie going on, my attention was turned toward my students and their grades. The good news is that my class did really well. The better news is that I finished grading papers a little more than a week before the grade submission deadline. Go Team Me, yo.

Although I haven't focused on my applications all that much -- I have all of Christmas break to do that -- the first application was due yesterday. Syracuse. *insert DUN DUN DUUUUN music* I confirmed that the materials I am responsible for arrived and now, I suppose, the waiting begins. I have to admit I'm both excited and terrified.

I'm also extremely impatient, but that's nothing new. If it were up to me I'd just get them to look at my file and yay or nay it on the spot. Can you imagine? "Oh hai, Syracuse. Would you mind looking at my application, like... yesterday? Really, just accept me. It'll be OK. We'll work out the details later." In the meantime, Plan B is to bribe them with cookies.

So, that's the big whoop on the Ph.D. front. Syracuse application: Done. (And apparently they'll start looking at files and information within the next couple of weeks.) Hopefully, this won't be too nerve-wracking. Up next, Temple (Jan. 1).
